VHS to DVD dubbing with DVR610KU

Blu-ray & DVD Players & Recorders - TOSHIBA FORUMS - forums.toshiba.com
There are only certain parts of my old VHS tapes I'd like to put on DVD. While in the dubbing mode, can I stop recording to DVD, let the tape play to the next desired section, and then resume recording? Do I have to stop the dubbing process, or can I just interupt recording to the DVD? If so, how is that accomplished without throwing the whole process out of whack?  Thanks
