Discovery wants to ruin your TV with their new bug

HDTV Programming - www.avsforum.com
So I go to watch someone on Discovery this week and am greeted by this, their new bug:

Seriously guys?!?!?

My plasma is quite resistant to IR. I basically never see IR during TV and movie watching, but due to the high contrast edges of this bug it takes several minutes to fade after watching a 1 hour program from the DVR (skipping the commercials). I've never had IR from any other channel's bug.

Geniuses... I'm sure OLED, CRT, Plasma, and IPS LCD owners will be thrilled with this one. I'm seriously questioning if I will be watching any more programming on Discovery while this remains their bug.
