Add atmos or forget about it.
TV Room: 11’ (w) x 14’ (l) x 9’ (h)
Dry-wall and same for ceiling.
Sony 75” 4K TV sitting on a 92” wide cabinet.
Sony 4K Blu Ray Player
Limitation: Cannot drill any holes in ceiling or walls to mount speakers.
Sofa is against the back wall and listening position is approx. 11’ from the TV. 3 sides have walls/windows and 4th side is open.
2 PSB Image T45 (Fronts) – tower speakers
1 PSB Image C40 (Center)
2 PSB Image T5 (Surrounds) – tower speakers
No sub (due to lack of space)
2 PSB Image B4 (wall mounted) – for some light music (used occasionally) – with audio CDs playing in the 4K BR player.
I am thinking about adding 2 PSB XA Atmos speakers (to sit on top of Image T45 speakers).
1. Will adding atmos speakers help with sound stage even when movies are encoded with DTS:X and not Dolby Atmos?
2. My receiver supports 7.2 channels. i.e. 5.0 + 2 atmos speakers will be driven by the 7 main channels. So, how can I drive the 2 speakers (music) using Zone 2?
