Surround/overhead speaker placement in my setup

General Home Theater & Media/Game Rooms - www.avsforum.com
Okay, converting the garage playroom, into a garage home theater. The pics were where I started. I've already moved the overhead shelfs to above the garage door, and the cabinets over the desk as high as they will go to give me wall space under the cabinets.

Idea is to run a 120" drop down. Seating (read couch) is 11' from the screen. Distance from screen to back wall is 20'. (back wall is where the desk is) Floor to ceiling is 9.5' (beam is 18")

Now speaker placement, my center speaker will be installed above the viewing area of screen, angled towards seating area. My L/R will be (for now) on top of cabinets, with a shim to angle down. Height off the floor to the center point of my L/R speakers is 6'8". Height to the center point of the center speaker will be 7'8". (Eventaully I will make custom hanging shelfs from the ceiling so all three heights will match, but that may be a pipe dream)

The overhead speakers- these will be downfiring bookshelfs with a home made mount. How high should these be mounted? I am making a custom drop down from ceiling mount, so they can be as high as 9' or as low as I'd like. These should be in line with the front L/R correct?

Surround placement. Am I better off placing my surrounds to mirror the fronts (equal distance between them, same height only with more pitch in the tilt? Or am I better off putting them on the back wall closer to ear height but with only a 6' spread between them?

Thanks.
