4K Pass Through?... Need help for picking a soundbar.

Home Audio - www.overclock.net
Hello,

I just got a Sony xbr65x850c and obviously, the sound is horrid. I'm looking for a soundbar that can either be a 2.1 or simulate a 5.1/7.1 because I don't have room for satellite speakers.

I have a <$600 budget, but the IR sensor on the TV is low, so placing the bar in front of the TV will block it and I don't want to deal with IR repeaters. So I need a soundbar that can either go below the TV or mounted above it and still sound great.

I was looking at a Bose Solo 15 (I know, a little small for a 65" TV, but it sounds great), but it doesn't have a 4K passtbrough. I want to have something futureproof, but I have no idea what 4K passthrough is. Is there sound that comes in a better quality or something?

Any recommended models or suggestions?

Thanks.
