Philco "1965 Ford Falcon" 6 Transistor AM Radio

Vintage Solid State - AudioKarma.org Home Audio Stereo Discussion Forums - www.audiokarma.org
Hello Everyone, earlier this evening I got for Christmas (late Christmas gift) a Philco "1965 Ford Falcon" 6 Transistor AM Radio that clearly needs some work, but I'm not sure where to start in restoring it.

The 9-Volt Battery clip is heavily corroded and when a fresh 9-Volt Battery is installed in the radio all I hear is a little bit of faint static from the power/volume control switch and from the tuner when its rotated and also when the 9-Volt battery is is jiggled in its clip, other than that the radio is pretty much dead.

Other than some of the issues I mentioned with the radio, its in pretty good shape overall cosmetically, except for it missing one of the turn-signal beacons on the fenders and the metal axels on the wheels being rusty.

Any ideas as to what I should do to get this classic Ford/Philco desiged radio back up and running like new again?
