Low volume output on left speaker on Fisher 800T

Fisher - AudioKarma.org Home Audio Stereo Discussion Forums - www.audiokarma.org
I am brand new to this site and what I have seen I can tell this is a site that I will like.

I brought this Fisher 800T brand new back in 1971. The left speaker volume is low compared to the right speaker. To balance the two speakers the balance control has to be set at 2 to left speaker. That will balance the sound but give very little volume. With the input being plugged into the AUX 4 ch the volume output is equalized. Base off another thread here that said that it should be the volume pot. So I used the thread on overhaul on the volume pot which was excellent. Needless to say that it didn't make a difference. Being somewhat of a newbie to electronic repair I thought I may not have done something correctly. So I switched the wiring so that the front pot was running the left speaker and the back pot was running the right speaker. If the problem was with the volume pot it should have switched the problem to the right speaker. It did not. Any suggestions would be welcome. Everything in this receiver is still original and works.
