Anyone for Mono ?

Returning here at 70 , due to being offered a new TT / Grace f9e from Arthur at Funk .

Since 2006 , I have just had an ex-dem Linn Classic Movie which introduced me to CD and DVD , my TT being defunct.

The Linn is OK as a stand alone CD player with amplifiers but the DVD/Tuner/inputs are defunct .

I now have a Quad Vena with inexpensive MM phono stage and RCL speakers from 1981 .

In anticipation , I have been revisiting my LPs , mostly 1960s female vocal and Opera to find that the majority are mono .

Two reasons for this - around 1965 I had mono record player and there was choice of mono or stereo .

Subsequently , used Mono opera sets / LPs were much cheaper - the music was the main attraction !

With unbalanced hearing loss Mono is actually more appropriate with headphones , so it's great for me .

Some of my stereo CDs can sound unbalanced now .

Does anyone have any mono recordings these days ?
