AKG closing shop
It has today (Oct 11) been confirmed that AKG’s Vienna operation has been forced to close its doors following Harman’s announcement last month that it was making over 650 members of international staff redundant.
But there's good news it seems:
Now,the engineering team at AKG Vienna have grouped together to launch a brand new company in the form of Austrian Audio.
They close their Vienna operation which I guess means they might still make microphones under the AKG name but somewhere else. I'm assuming that they haven't manufactured the microphones in Austria for a while now, but that's where they were developed, no?
