Should you still avoid sitting in the center of a room with dual subs?
My home theater is currently being built and I am at the stage where I need to figure out where the in-wall speaker wiring for a 7.2.4 setup is going. I have 2 SVS PB13 Ultra subs going in a 22x17x10 foot room and based on the distance I want to sit from the TV, it would put my sofa in practically the dead center of the room. That means I would want to put my surrounds and ATMOS speakers based on the sofa being there, but some people claim never set a sofa in the dead center of a room.
If I sit the ideal 38% off the front or back wall, it'll be too close or too far for my tastes. Is sitting in the center with 2 powerful subs really an issue? I assume they should have no problem getting reference level bass to the center of the room?
Here's a 2 minute paint job showing how I currently intend to set it up, the squares are speakers and the circles are in-ceiling atmos speakers. I didn't include the subs as they can be placed anywhere.
