b&w cm9 vs b&w 803n
I've had a pair of cm9s s1 for a little over a year now and I've already had to replace 3 tweeters, not sure if there was an issue with s1 tweeters but i know they upgraded em with the cm9 s2's. Instead of continuing to get them replaced I'm looking into a different speaker altogether. i considered the cm10's as they have an entirely different tweeter but 4k for the set i really have a hard time pulling the trigger.
i have found a a nice set of b&w 803n at a very good price. From what I've read these are at least slightly superior to the cm line. All in all i loved my cm9's ( although they lacked a little bass) but at this point I've had enough. it takes too long to get em repaired.
longevity and stress wise would the 803's be able to handle more stress than the cm9's? I'm mostly worried because if i do buy them they obviously will not have a warranty. I will be straight to the point and make it clear i do listen to my speakers at rather high levels, but not to the point of clipping or distorting. Both times i lost a tweeter was from house parties i through where speakers were played at pretty high levels for 3-4 hrs straight. ( although i do believe at one point a drunk idiot grabbed the stereo dial and maxed it out!!!)
can anyone give me any details on what i might expect sound wise between the two? i have yet to hear anything in the category of the 803n's
