Choosing amplifier to suit speakers. NAD or Pioneer?

Solid State | Audiokarma Home Audio Stereo Discussion Forums - audiokarma.org
Hi. My amplifier, which i think is the weakest part of my system, is giving me problems which are making me think I might be better off replacing it than repairing it. There are currently both a NAD 3020, and a Pioneer A400 for sale nearby, both of which seem to be very well regarded. I've read here that the A400 doesn't necessarily play well through all speakers though, so have come to the assembled brains for guidance.

I have a pair of AR18 speakers and input is from either Thorens TD-160 turntable or Chromecast Audio. Are either of the above amps better suited to my system?
