Lenovo W540 with Creative Inspire T6300

Home Audio Forum - www.tomshardware.com
Hello everyone,

Recently I bought myself a Lenovo W540. However, from my old desktop I still happen to have a new creative inspire t6300 5.1 surround set. Now this is were the problem occurs. The W540 only has the following ports:

1 x VGA,

2 x USB 3.0,

2 x USB 2.0,

1 x Mic/headphone combo,

1 x RJ45,

1 x DC in slot,

1 x Thunderbolt,

1 x Kensington Lock

The t6300 has to be connected with 3 3,5mm jacks though. (black/pink/green).

Next to that, the laptop comes with Dolby Home Theater v4.

My question is: how am I able to connect the t6300 to the W540. Does the W540 even support 5.1 surround? Is so, how to connect the surround set? If not, do I have to buy an external 5.1 surround compatibility device?

Many thanks!

Paul
