Looking for a "special" vintage speaker
I have some hearing loss, so I usually move selected tracks from CD via a Marantz A/D converter and then over to my Akai GX-635D R2R. There is a "lifted" presence to the music that I can't get through any other means.
Looking for something that has good string , brass, and piano notes, but can still be punchy and crisp.
Using B&W DM220's because my DCM Time Frame's have finally died and probably not worth rebuilding.
Thinking of KEF 104aB's... thoughts? Sansui SP-5500's? Not a Pioneer HP-series fan.
