The Maze Runner: The Death Cure (UHD Blu-ray) review
In the epic conclusion to the MAZE RUNNER saga, Thomas leads his group of escaped Gladers on their final mission. To save their friends, they must break into the legendary Last City, a WCKD-controlled labyrinth that may turn out to be the deadliest maze of all! Anyone who makes it out alive will get answers to the questions the Gladers have been asking since they first arrived in the maze.
Book adaptations are all the rage and overall this is a middling entry into the genre. The first movie started things off quite well, but the second didn?t inspire me to run out to the theaters to see the finale, hence I waited for the UHD to arrive in the mail. At 2 hours and 20 minutes, this movie is much too long and drags quite a bit. I had the pleasure of watching it with Ralph Potts, AVS Forum movie reviewer, in his theater in upstate New York while on vacation, and we pretty much felt the same way. In fact, we had our own version of Mystery Science Theater 3000 criticizing the film while watching it. Needless to say, there were a lot of ?come on man?s? going on along with a plethora of eye rolls.
It has three redeeming qualities. First, the audio kicks-ass. Second, the digital production looks great on UHD. Finally, the series is over and we won?t have sit through another movie with these characters. While I was entertained, it?s not something I see myself watching again in the near future.

The first movie really set things up well for this franchise, but it ultimately left me wanting for more. Furthermore, when you see the ending you?ll probably be asking the same exact question Ralph and I had??What was the point?? At least it looks and sounds great on UHD Blu-ray.
