MC2100 Dead - Looks like a bad power transistor

McIntosh Audio - AudioKarma.org Home Audio Stereo Discussion Forums - www.audiokarma.org
I don't have my gear with me so I wanted to verify if the description and what I found matches.

Sister's BF has an old MC2100. When plugged in after years of not being used, lights dimmed, fuse popped, and smoke rolled out.

Now that I am here to visit I opened it up and found a red wire between one of the filter caps to the first transistor had melted (and took a few surrounding wires with it), and most of the red wires around the first and 2nd transistor had melted along with a couple other victims that again look like collateral damage. I do not see any other damage beyond the wires at least on visual inspection.

To me it sounds like the usual power transistor issue, but the melting wires seem odd. One thing I also found was a 6W fuse instead of a 5W one which may have delayed the power cutoff.

EDIT: Forgot Pics
