Rate my first ever home theater setups!
I'm completely new to home theater and since I am remodeling my basement, I decided to take the plunge and build a home theater setup. While shopping for speakers and other parts, I stumbled upon (what I think to be) a good deal on Sonance speakers so I decided to do a 7.1 setup downstairs and a 5.1 setup upstairs in the living room.
Here is what I came up with - pretty much everything bought used on OfferUp/Letgo/FB Marketplace.
7.1 Setup - Basement family room.. 8' ceilings, area is roughly 15' x 18'
Receiver: Onkyo TX-NR616 ($165 Letgo) including audyssey mic and remote
Sub: Velodyne VX-10b ($40 OfferUp)
Center: Aperion Intimus 6-LCR ($30 OfferUp)
Fronts: Elan Systems MM650 Rectangular (x2 $35 each/$70 total - OfferUp)
Back: Sonance virtuoso 831DR (4x $25/$100 total - OfferUp)
Total Cost: $405 USD
Upstairs Setup will be fully ceiling/wall mounted except the center channel speakers because the wife did not want any speakers taking up space in the living room.
5.1 Setup - Living room.. open space concept but will cover a 16'x16' area with 10' ceilings
Receiver: Onkyo HT-RC440 ($90 Letgo) including remote
Sub: Pyle PDIWS10 In-Wall / In-Ceiling 10" High Power Subwoofer System ($40 Amazon)
Center: Klipsch SC1 Center Channel Speaker ($25 Letgo)
Fronts: Sonance Symphony S622TR (2x $35/$70 total - OfferUp)
Back: Elan Systems MM650 Round (2x $25/$50 total - OfferUp)
Total Cost: $275 USD
GRAND TOTAL COST: $680 USD
I'm looking forward to your comments or critiques in regards to how I did for my first ever builds.
