Refurb Yamaha RX-A1050 vs NIB Onkyo RZ800
Here's one for ya:
I currently have a Yamaha receiver and I'm quite happy with it.
I need a second receiver with Dual HDMI out for a basement.
I'm trying to squeeze every penny out of this build, because money is tight.
I found that the Yamaha rx-A1060 checks every box, but certainly eats up most of my budget (making me skimp on subwoofer choices)
Then I found Accessories for less has the 1050 refurb (still hits my needs) for a great price, allowing me to funnel more cash into the basement project.
I'm very hesitant to buy refurb, especially since Yamaha had been known to be reliable (so who knows what gremlins a refurb unit could have), so I found the Onkyo RZ800 for the same cost as the Yamaha
It's new, but Onkyo's reliability is so/so it seems.
So here's what's important to me right now:
2) multi HDMI out (to power two TVs)
3) music quality (2.1 stereo mostly...)
4) App control (unit will be in another room, so controlling from my cellphone is important)
Knowing this: where would your money go?
