Somethin is fishy.......

DIY Speakers and Subs - www.avsforum.com
I started working on my new HT back in November. I wanted to get some input on acoustics from some recording studio designers and acoustic guys who do this kind of stuff day in and day out. I was pleased with the information i was given and it was perfect for a DIY guy like me. There is tons of info online on how to properly acousticlly treat your room.....

While i was on some forums i began to get asked about my system and its capabilities. The first thing that was a point of interest was my systems capability to reproduce down into single digits......

They were perplexed as many of the Post Production people rarely introduced sounds below 20hz. They did explain that "if" its there, its accidental and a subharmonizer generated below their systems capability and it wasnt intentional.

I then went to the Disney Studio website and in Stage A where they mixed movies like WinterSoldier, Frozen, BigHero6, GuardiansOfTheGalaxy...... They use JBL cinema monitors.......

This is where i thought the boys in PostProduction may have a point. The subs used in Stage Studio A use (10) JBL 4645, and they are ported subs which mean they have a tune freq thats undeniable. The lower limit on these is 20hz, which is the recommeded Hipass from JBL at 24db/oct.

We all know the information is on the disc, we've seen all the graphs over and over, its there !!!! But no one is admiting they put it there.

Im trying to get intouch be email, the engineers (good luck KG) for a little better explanation.......

Anyone want to weigh in on this, accidental maybe, could be the BR mix thats done on a different monitor system but i doubt it.....
