Sony HT-CT150: which audio is best for movies (DTS, AC3, MP3, etc...)?

Soundbars - www.avsforum.com
I'm very new to this stuff so go easy on me

I have the Sony HT-CT150 sound bar and I have a HTPC hooked up to it via HDMI (for both audio and video). The movies I have contain either DTS or AC3 or MP3.

According to the Sony website, the sound bar supports: Dolby® Digital, dts® Decoding, LPCM : 2Ch/5.1Ch/7.1Ch via HDMI (I don't really know what those are).

I just find it weird to have DTS on a sound bar that doesn't have multiple speakers for true surround sound. Some movies I find it hard to hear the voices, etc... is that because the movie is not using DTS?

Q: Given my soundbar and sound source options, which should I be using? DTS, AC3 or MP3?

Thank-you in advance.
